Wisetek Celebrates Global Recycling Day 2021
To mark Global Recycling Day on Thursday, 18th March, Wisetek is calling on global companies to ethically manage the recycling of their waste, particularly e-waste, and ensure that they have sustainable practices in place.
Wisetek is proud of the sustainable practices in place in both its internal policies and the work it carries out on behalf of clients to recycle their IT assets ethically. Wisetek has a dedicated environmental committee in place, with the objective of continually improving the internal environmental policies and processes at its facilities across Ireland, the UK, the USA, the Middle East, and Thailand.
Global Recycling Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on March 18th to demonstrate support for environmental protection. This global awareness day was established in 2018 to recognise and celebrate the importance of recycling in conserving our precious natural resources and ensuring the planet’s long-term sustainability. It is a day for the entire world to unite and prioritise the planet.
Wisetek operates under the ethos of responsible, long-term data destruction on behalf of its customers. This is also reflected in the company’s locations across the globe.

Wisetek’s Zero Landfill Policy has resulted in the processing of over 125,000 metric tonnes of electronic equipment and over 18 million parts to date. About 12 million disk drives have been erased and destroyed, and over 7,000 enterprise rack systems have been refurbished or newly manufactured.
Wisetek was also the second company in the world to join the prestigious e-Stewards committed program, an independent certification recognizing its worldwide sites for ethical e-waste recycling.
